We can put a man on the moon with a slide ruler. 

But we can't trust our roads, bridges and politicians. We can't keep a certifiable psycho from buying a weapon of war to gun down innocents nor prevent some random white nationalist from killing people for their religion, hair style, clothing, political affiliation or their skin color. 

And we still have no clue what hiccups are, where they come from, nor where they go.
